500 CC - 065: Gruntilda

It seems villains overtook the 500 character challenge today.

Gruntilda is the main villain in all the Banjo Kazooie games. I drew her as she appears in the very first game. In Banjo Tooie, she becomes a skeletal version of herself after two years trapped under a rock. In Banjo Kazooie: Grunty's revenge, she is fully robotic. And finally, in Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, she has a metalic hat, a class tube on her shoulders, which her skull rests inside of, and her normal body from the first game, given to her by the Lord of Games, AKA L.O.G.

She was a VERY amusing villain in the two games I played... despite her overly gross sense of humor some times. She would, once in a while, say a random line as you walked through her lair. In the very first game, she talked in rhymes.

In Banjo Tooie, her sisters ordered a cease and desist of the rhyming, as it was annoying. Gruntilda responds "Oh...err... well if I must" ...hilarious.

It appears however that she is back to her rhyming ways in Nuts and Bolts.

At the end of every game, she has a little quiz-game show kind of thing, that tests your knowledge of the game you are playing. Occasionally, they ask things that catch you by surprise "How many buttons on the N-64 controller" or "Which Jet Force Gemini character was on a poster in Grunty Industries?"

And lastly, she has an awesome musical theme.


That pic was inspired by a short sonic the hedgehog cartoon that was included with Sonic Jam called "Man of the Year" ...you can find it on youtube I bet. There is no talking in that cartoon.
