Mr. Game & Watch was the name given to the character appearing in most of the handheld LCD games called the Game & Watch.

My personal favorite Game and Watch game was Fire, but to be fair, I haven't played that many. Fire and Donkey Kong Jr. Were the only games I played on a mini G&W Keychain, a long ass fukin time ago. The rest of them I played through Game and Watch Gallery.


When I read up on Super Smash Bros Melee, I read "How to unlock Mr. Game & Watch" and I said to myself: Who the hell is Mr. Game & Watch? ...And when I unlocked him I was like "...ohhhhh! That's Mr. Game & Watch? Holy crap! I can't believe they'd put him in!"

...Part of me loves that he's in Smash, but another part of me hates him. Although the way the talk about him in Brawl, it really makes me think he's kind of cool and mysterious. He sure beats the pants of R.O.B. I mean with game and watch I was like... Woah! That guy? That's kinda cool, haha. And with Rob I was like... ughh... that guy? That's...well... Whatever.

He was created by Gunpei Yokoi, who worked with Nintendo in it's early days, making toys. He also created the Game Boy, Virtual Boy, and the Kid Icarus, Panel De Pon, and the Metroid Series. On October 4, 1997, he died after a car accident. He was hit by a passing truck when he was examining the damage on his car.

I read that Mr. Game and Watch was put in Melee as a memorial to him.
